GALLERY EXHIBITION

The Human Image: Past/Future

 

ON VIEW beginning Thursday, October 13, 2016

HOURS: Mon - Fri, 10 -6 PM; Friday & Saturday, Oct. 21-22, 10 - 5 PM

The Human Image: Past/Future will feature portraits from the 16th Century through contemporary; from Hendrick Goltzius to Cindy Sherman and beyond. 

The show will include significant paintings, drawings and sculpture by artists who advanced the visualization of what a portrait can be: Hendrick Goltzius, Juan de Flandes, Hyacinthe Rigaud, Thomas Lawrence, Joshua Reynolds, George Romney, Gilbert Stuart, and Thomas Gainsborough, alongside Max Beckmann, Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Egon Schiele and Jean Dubuffet, leading up to Chuck Close, Elizabeth Peyton, Cindy Sherman, Peter Saul, Alice Neel, and Bill Viola.

The exhibition will run until the end of December and will include works for sale and on loan from private collections.
